Buddha Jayanti (Swanyapuni) is celebrated all over the world to mark the birth, enlightenment and passing away (parinirvana) of The Buddha. It was 2552 years ago that Siddhartha Gautama Buddha passed away in Kusinagar in India. Celebration took place at Priory Community Centre, Acton, London. News
The Society organised a Dharma talk by Venerable Bhikkhu Sumana on 3 February 2008 at The Sri Saddhatissa International Buddhist Centre, Kingsbury, London. Topic was "Reality Within: How Conditioned Are You?".
Essay Competition Prize giving
An essay competition was held in February 2007 in collaboration with Buddhist Youth Group of Kathmandu, Nepal to mark the Society’s 10th anniversary on following two subjects: 1) Importance of Dana, Sila and Samadhi in daily life & 2) Buddha Dharma and Human rights. The prize giving ceremony was organised in June 2007 in Nepal which was well attended and successful. We intend to hold similar essay competition in future. More...

2550th Buddha Jayanti (Swanyapuni) Celebration took place on 14th May 2006 at Priory Community Centre, Acton, London. Programme was consist of talks from Bhante Sumana on "Buddha's Message of Peace", Mr. Amrit Sthapit on "Buddha's Basic Teaching - The Four Noble Truths" and Meditation conducted by Bhante Sujan. Mr. Pabitra Man Shakya Sang two beautiful devetional songs (Gyanmala Bhajan).

Programme was consist of Ghyaling played by Sano Lama and Sange Lama, talk from Lodro Thaye on "Buddhism for Everyday", Mr Paul Seto on "Seeing the Buddha Everywhere: Using Reality and Imagination on the Path", Bhante Sumana on "Dana, Sila & Bhavana leading to Wisdom" and short meditation by Paul Seto. Mr. Pabitra Man Shakya Sang beautiful devetional songs (Gyanmala Bhajan).
